The 1991 Karvasales '35 Outstanding Senior Woman Athlete Awardrecipient, Annemarie Merow (Bel Air, MD/ John Carroll) totaledeight varsity letters and was a two-time team captain in soccer andlacrosse during her career at Franklin & Marshall College. The"Most Promising Player" award recipient in soccer as a freshman,Merow won the team "Hustle Award" as a sophomore by finishing asthe team's second leading scorer as she tied the school record formost single season assists (13) and set a new Franklin &Marshall College record for assists in a game with six.

Her career continued to flourish as she was named team MostValuable Player to cap a junior season in which she earnedAll-Middle Atlantic Conference, South-Mideast Region All-Americaand second team All-America honors. She ended her career with 74points on 25 goals and 24 assists as she ranks 9th in scoring, 11thin goals and 5th in assists in the 25 year history of the women'ssoccer program. One of the best players in the history of lacrosseat the College, she was named team captain in her junior year andwas named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Team, BrineIntercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Second TeamAll-America and United States Women's Lacrosse AssociationHonorable Mention All-America teams.

Her best season came in 1991 as she captained the Diplomats to aschool record 15-1 mark, a #1 national ranking, the #1 seed in theNCAA Playoffs and the NCAA Final Four. The team's center that tookface-offs and anchored the midfield play, she was awarded the"Division III Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year" award bythe IWLCA in addition to earning All-MAC, USLWA All-America andBrine/IWLCA All-America first team honors. The team's fifth leadingscorer with 17 goals and 11 assists for 28 points as a senior, shewas chosen to the North-South Senior All-Star game at Johns HopkinsUniversity to close out her career with 30 goals and 34 assists for64 points.
