Robert Shepardson '83

Rob Shepardson was a local lad who made it in a big way on theFranklin and Marshall football gridiron, rising to the top of theMAC and establishing himself as one of the best in the NCAADivision III. He was a four-year starter and letterwinner on somevery successful Diplomat teams. Occasionally playing while injured,Rob missed only one game in four years. More important than hisphysical skills was Rob's ability to lead by example. As afreshman, Rob ranked 7th nationally in passing efficiency.

As a sophomore, he improved that mark and finished 4thnationally while throwing 18 touchdowns. As a junior, he threw fourtouchdown passes against Dickinson and was named to the regionalAcademic All-American team. As a senior, Rob was accorded everyhonor in sight. He led the MAC in passing and total offense and wasnamed the conference MVP. In addition, he was named to the ECACDivision III South all star team and was named an AcademicAll-American.

Rob established F&M career records in the followingcategories: completions (401), passes attempted (750),interceptions (36), yards passing (5,476), and touchdown passes(44). Following graduation from F&M with a dual major inbiology and government, an NCAA post-graduate scholarship helped tofund his way to Harvard University where he graduated with amaster?s degree. Currently living in New York City with his wifeJane Kimmel '83, Rob works for the Sawyer/Miller Group as apolitical consultant.
