Anthony Vattilana ‘93

One of the best soccer players in the history of the sport atFranklin & Marshall College, Vattilana holds the school recordsfor points (103) and assists, and ranks second in goals scored (40)behind Scott Runyon '02 (44). The 1993 Senior Male Athlete of theYear, he was a three-time MAC South First Team All-Star (1990,1991,1992) and was twice named to the National Soccer CoachesAssociation All Mid-Atlantic Region team (1990-Honorable Mention,1992-First Team). Overall, he led the team to a 34-37-2 record,including a 10-9 mark as a senior as the Diplomats advanced to theECAC playoffs. As a freshman, he set a school record with eightgoals and four assists for 20 points to lead off a Hall of Famecareer. He continued his dominance through his sophomore (9-3-21),junior (11-9-31) and senior seasons (12-7-31). In addition, he wasnamed as Adidas Scholar-Athlete All-America Honorable Mentionselection and a GTE/Verizon Academic All-America College DivisionAll-District II pick as a senior. The team "Offensive" and MACSouth Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior, Vattilana servedas team captain in 1991 and 1992.
