His passes in the American International College game, a 40-38win at the final gun, will never be forgotten. He racked up a thenschool record of 432 total yards in the contest. Despite havingplayed in a primarily running era, Ritter ranks in the top 25 inpassing attempts (210), completions (102), yards (1,540), andtouchdowns (20). He also ranks in yards of total offense (1,540)and career touchdowns responsible for (20). 865 passing yards in1952 stood as a school record for 11 seasons, while his 10touchdowns that year held up for 20 years until Robert Olenderthrew 15. Ritter taught Geology at Franklin & Marshall.Attended Lehigh for postgraduate studies in geology and earned adoctorate from Princeton.
