Robert completed his best swimming season in 1929-30, when heaveraged 12 points per meet to lead the Diplomats to six wins in aneight-meet schedule. In 1930, he took over as coach and captain ofthe team, leading the Diplomats to a 12-7-1 dual meet record duringthe next three seasons. In 1931, Robert set the F&M records inthe 50- and 100-yard freestyle and was on the 300-medley relay teamthat set the Fackenthal pool and college record. A physics major,Robert graduated with a B.S. degree and was named recipient of theWilliamson Medal Award, given annually to F&M's outstandinggraduate. He is retired and living in Baltimore, Md.
