Lynch was one of the first four-year lettermen in school historyonce the NCAA allowed freshmen to compete on the varsity level. Afour-year starter from 1971-74 behind home plate, Lynch was atwo-time All-Middle Atlantic Conference First Team choice.

Despite playing in fewer games per season than currentplayers, Lynch appears in the top-40 in the F&M record book in16 different categories. He sits atop the list in lowest stolenbase pct. against with a perfect 0-23 (.000) mark. He also rankssecond in most runners caught stealing (23), fourth in putouts(563), 10th in most sacrifice hits (6) and11th in both home runs (6) and walks (53).  Whatmakes Lynch’s statistics even more impressive is the factthat F&M played against many Division I teams during hiscareer. Twenty-two percent of the Diplomats’ opponentsthroughout Lynch’s four seasons were Division Isquads.
