Carl H. “Tubby” Ehrensberger '35

Carl was an outstanding center and excellent placekicker on theDiplomats' football team in 1933 and '34 when F&M gave athleticscholarships and played the likes of Lafayette and Rutgers. He wasconsidered the best lineman on the F&M team that went 8-1 in1934, allowing just three touchdowns the entire season andregistered six shutouts. Carl was considered by many to be as goodas S.W. "Woody" Sponaugle, a legendary player at F&M. Whilestatistics are difficult to find for football linemen, people thatsaw Carl play rated him as "one of the best" to ever play for theDiplomats. Carl graduated with a B.A. degree in economics. He is aretired president of NDT Industries and lives in Dayton, Ohio.
