The captain-elect of the 1927 baseball team, heplayed the infield and was one of the "main-stays" of the line upduring his time as a Nevonian (as F&M teams were then known). The 1928 yearbook claims, "Here's a real athlete of the class, andhails from Brownstone. You may know him--Sam Brown. This boy canmake more field goals and get away with more personal fouls thanany two men on the team. However, Sam is not only a basketballplayer, but he also excels at Babe Ruth"s old game, particularly inthe Babe"s own line."
