Among the greatest basketball players in school history, BradMarkey (York, PA/Dallastown) was named to the All-Time and 1980sAll-Era Teams during Franklin & Marshall College's 100 Years ofBasketball Celebration on February 15, 2003. Statistically, heranks among the all-time leaders in points (11th, 1,298), assists(3rd, 411), three point field goals (3rd, 168) and three pointfield goal percentage (1st, 50.1%) as he led the Diplomats to a92-25 record, four Middle Atlantic Conference title gameappearances with titles in 1986, 1988 and 1989, four NCAA regionalappearances with three "NCAA Sweet 16" and one "Elite Eight" berthand finished with a 51-8 mark in his final two seasons in aFranklin & Marshall College uniform.
One of the best point guards in school history, he establishedschool single season marks for most three-point field goals (54)and three-point field goal percentage (53.5%) as a sophomore whileleading the team to a 22-7 record. As a senior, Markey led the teamin scoring average (17.7 ppg) and was chosen MVP, MVP of theSponaugle and Rotary Tip-Off Tournaments, an ECAC South First TeamAll-Star and MVP, ECAC Player of the Year, National Association ofBasketball Coaches (NABC) All-Region team, NCAA Mid-AtlanticRegional All-Tournament team and NABC All-America second team toround out a career in which he earned All-American honors in 1988and 1989.
