Louis LeCalsey III '62

LeCalsey finished his career at Franklin &Marshall with his name etched all over the men’s soccerrecord book, with many of those records still standing to this day.LeCalsey, a goalkeeper, is tops in F&M history in career saves(545), career save pct. (.898), career saves per game (18.17),single-season saves (218) and single-game saves (31). LeCalsey wasranked seventh in the nation in saves per game in 1960 and 12th in1959. He earned All-Mid Atlantic South Division All-Star honors in1961. LeCalsey also served on the U.S. Olympic Soccer TeamSelection Committee in 1970 and 1971. From 1978-80 he coached thegoalkeepers at F&M for head coach Al Hershey.

Following his playing career, LeCalsey eventuallymoved into the coaching ranks. He started the Wisconsin-MarinetteJunior College soccer program where he coached for two seasons,leading the team to a 6-0 mark and a seventh-place national finish.LeCalsey was also a member of the men’s lacrosse team.

LeCalsey moved onto become the founding men’shead soccer coach at the new University of Wisconsin- Green Bay andled the Phoenix in 1969-70. His overall win-loss record was 22wins, 4 losses and 4 ties (73.3% winning percentage). 

He was inducted into the University ofWisconsin-Green Bay Athletics Hall of fame in 2000.
