Jennifer Slaybaugh ’92 was a three-sport star captainingeach of her teams as a senior. She excelled in soccer for G.W. Mixand Mick Means, softball for Ray Oswald and basketball forMary Fleig and Becky Lovette. Ever the athlete, she even managed tofind time to throw the javelin in a senior year meet against JohnsHopkins!

A three-time All-Middle Atlantic Conference team selection insoftball, Slaybaugh led the Diplomats to the MAC SouthwestChampionship as a sophomore and junior. Her .481 batting average asa sophomore ranked ninth in the nation, while her 30 RBIs rankedtenth. She was a lifetime .355 hitter with 32 extra base hits,including a school record, 17 triples and six home runs. Shesported a .430 on base percentage, .556 slugging percentage, drew41 walks, stole 26 bases, scored 62 times and drove in 93 runs. TheDiplomats went 69-34 during Slaybaugh's career.

As a freshman, she started in the field for the 1988 MiddleAtlantic Conference championship soccer team. The squad won the MACWest Championship in each of the next two years. The latter of theMAC West championships came after Slaybaugh converted from fieldplayer to keeper. She was named the All-MAC Second Team's goalieand earned team MVP honors. Despite spending only two years betweenthe pipes, Slaybaugh stopped 274 shots, leaving her fifth in careersaves at F&M. Her .843 save percentage ranks second at F&M,while her 1.43 goals against average ranks seventh.
