A two-sport standout, Shannon Martin spent her days at F&Mon both the tennis and squash courts, earning team Most ValuablePlayer honors in each. Her efforts in both sports landed her theOutstanding Senior Athlete Award in 1988. Martin arrived at F&Mand took over the No. 1 spot and competed in the U.S. SquashRacquets Association Women's Intercollegiate Championships.Overall, she was a four-time National Qualifier on the squashcourt, as well as a two-time captain and two-time MVP.

She finished her squash career with a record of 47-14-1 and wasan All-American in 1988, ranking as high as 18th in the nation thatseason. In addition to squash, she was a three-year letterwinnerfor the women's tennis program. Martin posted a 24-3 singles recordas a sophomore, before bettering that with a 19-4 mark as a junior.She capped her career, hitting the 20-win mark for the second time.In her four years, she compiled an overall record of 66-19 and wasnamed Franklin & Marshall's Outstanding Senior Athletic Awardwinner in 1988. She was also named the team's MVP.
